This project was developed for Art Contained, part of the Town of Claremont’s ART TRA Festival in April 2017. Housed in a cubed sea container, the project was an installation of pocket-sized paintings and drawings, exploring the natural environments that we carry with us in our memory. I’m interested in the way that some locations and environments really stick with you and when they come to mind, they transport you immediately back to that place. The paintings I made were based on images and descriptions of places sent to me by members of the community. While the project was on display, visitors added their own drawings and artworks and the project grew over the weekend. (There are also some cool little characters in amongst the landscapes)
